After a trial or guilty plea, a conviction becomes final.  But if the conviction was obtained illegally - based on illegally obtained evidence, an unfair trial, or an accusation later proved to be false - it may be possible to get post-conviction relief either directly on appeal or by a procedure known as a writ of habeas corpus.  Cases in which a conviction is already final are some of the hardest cases to win, and there are many procedural roadblocks to overcome.  Nonetheless, if you have been wrongly convicted, you do not have to give up hope.  Please contact us for a free consultation.
